(A 12-Week Pathway)

A personalized rhythm of Scripture, journaling, and listening

Hey, sweet sister.

You don’t need another study to keep up with.
You don’t need more voices telling you what you should be doing spiritually.

What you may be longing for is a faithful way forward—one that honors where you actually are, not where you think you’re supposed to be.

This offer is a personalized spiritual formation experience designed to help you explore a specific spiritual practice or theme in Scripture with intention, pacing, and care.

Not rushed.
Not overwhelming.
Not generic.

This offering may be a good fit for you if:

  • You feel drawn to a spiritual practice or Scripture theme, but don’t know how to engage it faithfully
  • You’re tired of intense Bible studies or “do more” spiritual plans
  • You want guidance that is trauma-aware, gentle, and rooted in prayer
  • You value structure—but only when it serves listening, not pressure
  • You want to grow in attentiveness to God, not just knowledge about God

You don’t need to be “stuck” to begin.

You just need a sense that something is stirring.

What This Is (And What It’s Not)

This is not:

  • a course
  • a certification
  • a reading challenge
  • a productivity system

This is:

  • spiritual direction expressed through structure
  • a discerned formation map designed around your season
  • a rhythm you can return to, not a plan to complete

How It Works

1. Discernment Session

We begin with a one-on-one session (60–75 minutes) to listen together for what you’re being drawn toward.

We’ll explore:

  • Why this practice or theme, now
  • What you’re hoping for—and what you’re weary of
  • Your current capacity and constraints
  • Where God already seems present or inviting

This conversation shapes everything that follows.

2. Your Personalized Formation Map

After our session, I’ll create a custom 12-week spiritual formation pathway for you.

Each week includes:

  • A single weekly focus
  • Carefully chosen Scripture passages
  • One primary resource (book chapter, article, or podcast)
  • Optional additional material (only if you have margin)
  • Journal prompts designed for reflection, not performance
  • A gentle noticing question to carry through the week

The goal is not to finish everything—it’s to cultivate faithful attention.

3. Ongoing Support & Integration

Depending on the option you choose, this may include:

  • A midpoint check-in to notice what’s unfolding
  • A final integration session to reflect and carry insights forward
  • Light written or text messaging support along the way

You won’t be doing this alone—but you also won’t be managed.

Possible Areas of Focus

Your pathway might center on:

  • A spiritual practice (listening prayer, lament, Sabbath, discernment, examen)
  • A theme in Scripture (waiting, healing, wilderness, desire, God’s nearness)
  • A life season (grief, transition, restlessness, rebuilding trust with God)

If you’re not sure how to name the focus yet, that’s part of the discernment.

“Written spiritual direction is validating, freeing, and very helpful. It also is a record. With face-to-face direction, you cannot go back and look at what has gone before. The paperwork is like a standing stone of what God has done and is doing.”

Hi, I’m Kari.

Hi, I’m Kari. I’m a spiritual director and journaling guide, and I love helping women notice God’s presence in the midst of life’s transitions, restlessness, and everyday moments.

I’ve walked with people in children’s and youth ministry, small groups, and adult Bible studies, and over the years I’ve discovered that spiritual growth happens best when it’s guided, paced, and personal.

Through written spiritual direction, I combine gentle structure with prayer and reflection—using Scripture, curated resources, and journaling prompts—to help you listen for God in a way that feels spacious, practical, and faithful.

I’d be honored to walk with you in this season and help you create a rhythm for paying attention to where God is already at work.

“Kari provides a unique and rare spiritual companionship that’s hard to find in today’s busy world. I can always sense God’s presence and wisdom coming through in the insights she shares and questions she presents for my reflection.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between counseling, coaching, and spiritual direction?

Very generally speaking, counselors look into your wounded past to help you heal, coaches look toward the future and help you take action so you can live more fully, and spiritual directors focus on God and your relationship with Him. You might lean on one more than another in different seasons, but all can be incredibly helpful and have their own role to play.

Do you have any additional resources to help me learn more about spiritual direction?

Yep! I’ve compiled a group of podcast episodes that speak to spiritual direction, especially written spiritual direction.

You can also read this great post, The Beginner’s Guide to Spiritual Direction from Celia A. Miller. In it she provides an overview to spiritual direction and shares about her own experience working with a spiritual director.
